History

Blancher and Company was founded in 1978 by 24-year-old Jason Blancher. Blancher, a New Orleans native, had met his future wife Susan while both were students at Tulane.
Blancher began his career as a stockbroker at Paine Webber in New Orleans. Blancher left Paine Webber to work for Merrill Lynch, where he quickly rose through the ranks in the New Orleans office to eventually become a regional manager.
The Blanchers were living in Dallas, Texas at the time Jason Blancher received notice of a vacancy at Paine Webber in New Orleans. In 1978, Blancher took the job and moved back to New Orleans.
The Blanchers had three children, and in 1982, Jason Blancher was offered the position of vice president at Paine Webber in Dallas. Jason Blancher was torn between remaining in Dallas or returning to New Orleans. In June of 1983, Blancher gave up his vice-president's position, and Blancher and Company was born.

In 1990, Kenneth W. Blancher founded Blancher & Company. His vision was to create a firm that could offer clients the resources of a Wall Street investment firm without sacrificing the personal service of a local broker. Mr. Blancher brought on Stephen J. Inserra, a highly respected New Orleans attorney, to serve as Managing Partner and CEO.
Mr. Blancher has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to founding Blancher & Company, he was a regional manager for Kidder Peabody & Co., a Wall Street investment firm. He is a graduate of Tulane University.
Mr. Inserra has more than 30 years of experience practicing law. Prior to being appointed as Managing Partner, he served as Managing Director of Blancher & Company. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame and received his Doctorate from Tulane University.
