IRA vs. Other Gold Investments
Investing in physical gold through an IRA can give you access to gold bullion at a relatively low cost. However, there are annual storage fees that can cost several hundred dollars a year, depending on your account size, and IRAs have limited options.
Investing in gold bars and coins through an IRA gives you the most freedom, but also comes with the disadvantage that you lose liquidity. Gold bars and coins are more difficult to sell and do not have a secondary market.
